Gillionville is known as one of the great quail hunting plantations in Georgia. The property has been in the same family since the 1880's and has hosted some of the most influential people in the world. The movie "The Biscuit Eater" about a boy and his dog was filmed at Gillionville in 1940.

Gillionville has been operated as a private quail hunting club since 1983. Members and their guests have returned year after year to experience the plantation's wonderful accommodations, spectacular scenery, family atmosphere and exceptional hunting. The Main House built in the 1930's was designed by architect, Edward Vason Jones, who is best known for his renovations on the White House in Washington, D.C. The plans for Gillionville were Mr. Jones' first major work and resulted in one of the most beautiful, warm and charming hunting lodges in the world.
