War Trail is a hunting and timber property. It is a part of Buckfield Plantation and is one of four properties available.

War Trail is located near Yemassee, a small country town on Interstate I-95. The area is noted for its historic plantations, timber production, hunting lands, rivers and streams lying along the Atlantic Ocean.

The property is between Charleston and  Savannah, near the beaches and golf courses at Hilton Head and coastal town of Beaufort.

The CSX rail line in Yemassee is home to the Amtrak Station, which serves as the principal rail access point in the Lowcountry region. Historically, northerners coming to hunt got off the train in Yemassee.

During the Indian wars of 1715 Yemassee and Creek Indians used a road through the property that became known as the War Trail. It was used later by colonists and British militia during the American Revolution and again during the War Between the States.
