Bonny Hall is a hunting plantation located on the Combahee River at the edge of the ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge. The property is stunningly beautiful, steeped in history, and a bird hunter's paradise.

Established by a British land grant in 1732, Bonny Hall was a working plantation producing rice commercially until 1914. Since then, the plantation has been operated for hunting and other recreational pursuits. A typical day at Bonny Hall begins with a duck hunt at dawn, a quail hunt until noon, a picnic in the field, and an afternoon dove shoot. If you like, climb into a deer stand, go fishing, kayak on the Combahee River, or ride a horse through the pecan orchard. Whether hosting a small gathering or a house party of twenty, Bonny Hall is the ultimate home to entertain family and friends.

The main house at Bonny Hall is magnificent in its stature and architectural detail. Following the Civil War, the central portion was re-constructed in 1897. The home was expanded in 1935 with the addition of two symmetrical wings designed by Charleston architect Samuel Lapham. In recent years, the house has been extensively renovated and upgraded to perfection. A formal garden flanks the east side of the home. Designed by famed Long Island landscape architect, Umberto Innocenti, it features majestic live oaks and specimen camellias. Two charming guest cottages are tucked away near the main house, which can accommodate an entire family or individual guests.

Today, Bonny Hall is among the most beautiful plantations on the Combahee River, offering a diverse range of hunting and outdoor activities. The home, duck ponds and quail woods are all maintained by a first-rate manager and staff. Bonny Hall has the distinction of being the first property to become a part of the Ace Basin National Wildlife Refuge, one of the prettiest places in the world.
