MAGNOLIA PLANTATION

MAGNOLIA PLANTATION

4640 ACRES NEAR ALBANY, GEORGIA

In 1958 Dr. Charles Allen Thomas, an avid hunter, acquired Magnolia which is located in the heart of Albany’s quail plantation neighborhood. Dr. Thomas was one of America’s renowned scientists, worked on the Manhattan Project and was Chairman of Monsanto Chemical Company. He fulfilled his passion for hunting which he shared with his family and friends at Magnolia.

Located west of Albany and only twenty minutes from the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport, Magnolia is surrounded by other plantations. While a large portion of the property is managed for native quail hunting, it has abundant species of all wildlife native to South Georgia. The expansive acreage of upland pine and bottomland hardwood supports excellent populations of whitetail deer and Eastern wild turkeys. The headquarters at Magnolia consists of a beautiful main house, two guest houses, stable, kennels, shop/managers office, equipment sheds, and employee housing.
